LEADING

COMMERCIAL

CONTRACT GLAZIER

EST. 1953

First established in El Paso in 1953 as a typical family-owned small town “glass shop,” The Glass House steadily grew until, in 1978, it began operating solely as a contract glazier. It has continued to transform into a full-scale contract commercial glazier, now with operations and fabrication facilities in El Paso and Austin.

The Glass House is capable of multiple scopes of work, some of which include aluminum storefronts and entrances, glazed aluminum curtain walls, all-glass entrances and partitions, aluminum windows, sunshade devices, decorative glass railings, security, and impact-resistant glazing, fire-rated glazed systems and entrances, aluminum door hardware, security film, lead and specialty glazing, mirrors, and even glass marker boards.  We can erect all traditional stick-built systems, as well as most shop-glazed or unitized systems available through the industry’s leading manufacturers. If it has anything to do with glass or aluminum, we can take it on.

ESTIMATING TEAM

Our estimating team is experienced and knowledgeable in developing budgets, starting with schematic drawings, to offering final proposals based on 100% construction documents.  We welcome the opportunity to participate in all phases of the design-build and design-assist processes.

FABRICATION & INSTALLATION

Our fabrication capabilities are state of the art, supported by computerized optimization and machining centers capable of machining all aluminum storefront and curtainwall systems and doors as wide 5’ 0” and as tall as an architect can imagine.

Installation is supported by several glass handling machines including an Ergo Robotics Thom 2200 and Skyhook WPI and a Vector 400. Those machines lift the especially heavy glass, or unitized panels, while the glaziers monitor the remote control and oversee final placement.

SAFETY & TRAINING

A culture of safe working habits coupled with continuous safety and job training and in-house safety inspections are key to our operational success.

We employ an OSHA 500 certified safety officer.  All our employees begin to receive OSHA 10 and 30 safety training soon after employment.  We offer each new hire an opportunity to participate in our U.S. Department of Labor certified apprenticeship training program and consistently maintain an EMR well below 1.0.

We are justly proud of our Glass House culture. One that we all trust and enjoy.
